- Depending on the type of photoshoot, a typical portrait session can last up to 2 hours or more depending on the size of the party. Sometimes a large family includes multiple families, pets, etc. and can take more time.
- Photo sessions with hair and makeup services may take longer than 2 hours.

- A corporate photo session will last as long as all the staff has been photographed or the work has been done per requirements.
- Do you retouch the images?
-
- Absolutely. All revealed images are professionally edited and retouched.
- Retouching is limited to enhancing, color correcting, and basic beauty retouching (skin and hair).
- For Senior Portraits, the images are retouched for acne.
- Glamour portraits receive more involved beauty retouching.
- More involved beauty retouching such as lifting, wrinkles, thinning, etc. is available upon request and has an additional cost starting at $39/photo depending on what is being requested.
- Fashion photo shoots do involve more retouching and beauty images get what is called "beauty retouch" for editorial publication.
- Why aren't the digital files included as part of the session fee?
-
- The digital files are my negatives and I do not give them away. The good news is that digital files are part of the creative package that you would put together during the in-person or online ordering session.
- My goal is to offer beautiful wall art and cherishable photo albums with those digital negatives so that you can display and enjoy them instead of being forgotten in a computer folder.
- They can also be sold separately à la carte -- like in the good old days! ;)
- Corporate/commercial and business projects have different terms and conditions.
- Pleases refer to the following blog post I wrote about this topic: https://www.adrianaephotography.com/blog/why-your-photographer-wont-hand-over-the-raw-files
- Where are the portrait sessions?
-
- It depends. It can be indoors/outdoors, at my home studio or your location of preference. For children and family sessions, I prefer outdoors as it is more organic and offers more natural props. children love it and it is also more conducive to candid images. Please keep in mind that some locations do charge a photography fee that would not be included in the session fee.
- What about location fees?
-
- In the DC area, many locations charge a photography fee to use the premises. Those fees are not included in my session fees so I will have to add it on to your final invoice.
- The location fees are very reasonable.
- Please refer to my MY FEES page for additional information.
- When is payment due?
-
- Payment of the session fee due at the time of booking my services and it is non-refundable.
- All session fees are paid online with a credit card via the Booking Form.
- The session fee is transferable to another date within six months of the originally booked date.
- Products such as wall art, photo albums, prints, and digital file payments are due at the time of placing the order.
- Payment plans for the latter are available upon request.
- What is the Client's Usage Right?
-
- Depending on whether you are an individual or a business, your usage rights may vary.
- For personal portraits and headshots, the images are for personal use only and not commercial use. If you want to use your photos for commercial use, you would need to contact me requesting permission. As you may know, when it is for commercial use, the implications of using an image commercially may be significant. These need to be reviewed carefully to determine any financial benefits or royalties that may result, and a contract may have to be signed.
- Corporate/Commercial photographs have different usage rights and are renewable.
- What if I need to reschedule?
-
- Unexpected things happen all the time. If you need to reschedule, please call me as soon as possible to reschedule your session. The session fee is transferrable to another date, same type of session within six months of your original booking date.

-
- Once you have placed the order of your creative package, bought the digital files a la carte, I will create a private gallery with your images where you will be able to download the entire collection.

- When will proofs be available?
-
- Proofs will be revealed when we have our in-person ordering session.
- What do I/we wear for the photoshoot?
-
- It all depends on the type of photo shoot, but in principle, everyone in the photo needs to feel comfortable in the clothing they are wearing.
- For corporate profile headshots, you will want to wear work clothes. Refer to this blog post: What to Wear for a Corporate Headshot
- For Seniors, we will discuss the different outfits you can wear when we have our phone conversation. You may bring as many outfits as you would like, and then I will help you choose the best ones. Refer to: What to Wear for Your Senior Pictures
- For families and children, if you want nicely coordinated outfits, I will provide you a Pinterest link for ideas, and a blog post that and we can discuss them over the phone or via email. Refer to: How to Coordinate Family Outfits
- Do I need the services of a makeup artist and Hairstylist?
-
- For headshots and senior portraits, I highly recommend that you leave makeup and hairstyling to the pros. The difference is night and day, and so much worth it.
- I can make arrangements for a makeup artist/hairstylist to be on-site, the service starts at $175/person at the time of booking.
- The advantage of an onsite makeup artist is that she/he will be there to make fixes and retouches during the photo shoot.
- For family portraits, it is optional. I do realize most women feel comfortable with how they do their own makeup. But, I still recommend getting your makeup done by a makeup artist. It is just one more way to make sure you look and feel your best. If you can't or don't have the time, I would only ask that you accentuate it a bit more than usual.
- Do I need to sign a release form?
-
- Yes. You will have to sign a document in which you understand that the images that Adriana Escalante Photography can use your photos and likeness in all forms and media for advertising, portfolio, demo, trade, stock photography, editorial, altering without restrictions, and all other lawful purposes.
- Do you do Trade for Print for Models?
-
- Yes. I love to help models start/add to their portfolios. A Model release form will have to be completed. Please contact me directly to discuss in detail what you are looking for in your portfolio.
- I also love to collaborate with other Creatives!
